Kid’s Rock Climbing Camps in the Adirondacks & Gunks

Mountain Skills Climbing Guides offers 5 day Kid’s Rock Climbing Camps in Gunks & Adirondacks during the summer time.  These camps are a great way for you child or teenager to learn rock climbing and camping skills in two great rock climbing locations.  The Gunks has amazing beginner learning capabilities for the budding young rock climber, while the Adirondacks holds countless camping, mountain climbing & rock climbing possibilities.

We start our rock climbing camp in the Gunks by going over the basic skills of belaying, rappelling, safety commands, climbing movement, mountain sense and Leave No Trace Ethics.  Next, we head up to the Adirondacks for some outdoor camping, mountain climbing, and rock climbing.

Depending on the type of weather we are experiencing at the time decides our choice of routes and mountains we climb while in the Adirondacks.  These are long days starting with an early breakfast before heading up to the cliffs.  Late afternoon is spent back at our campsite cleaning up, relaxing tired bones and eating dinner.

Our last day of camp is usually spent back in the Gunks climbing the classic routes the area has to offer before heading back home.  These camps are a great way for your teenager to explore the outdoors.  Our camper to guide ratio is low, allowing for more one on one teaching to take place.  All meals, day use fees, technical climbing equipment and transportation while in the course is provided for.  If you would like your child to experience the outdoors in a fun, memorable and exciting way give us a call at 845-853-5450 or email  You can also check out our website at for directions, rates, guides bios and waivers.
